What Is The Pelvic Floor?
The pelvic floor muscles are located between your legs, and run from your pubic bone at the front to the base of your spine at the back. They are shaped like a sling and hold your pelvic organs in place. They are a crucial part in overall biomechanics and dysfunction in the pelvic floor can be the root cause of back pain, hip problems, incontinence, and a myriad of other problems. More about Lea Klein:
During her career, Lea has worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting. She spent the first 7 years treating spine and pelvis disorders and furthering her manual therapy skills with training in massage therapy and spinal manipulation. By 2008, Lea refined her treatment focus to specialize in pelvic floor therapy, a specialty that she finds she is most passionate about. She is also certified in Functional Dry Needling Level 1 and Kinesio Taping 1 and 2, and has taken extensive continuing education.
